O’Level Subjects for Agric Extension And Rural Development

You are required to have five (5) SSC credit passes in the following O’Level subjects listed below:

1). Biology/Agricultural Science.
2). English Language.
3). Mathematics.
4). Chemistry.
5). And any of the following subjects; Geography, Economics, and Physics.

NOTE: The O’Level subject Combination for Agric Extension And Rural Development is also applicable to WAEC, NECO, GCE, and their equivalent.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). UNN requires five (5) ‘O ’level credit passes in subjects which must include English Language, Biology/or Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and either Mathematics or Physics

2). FUTO requires 5 SSC credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, and Biology/Agricultural Science. They also accept an ‘O’ level pass in Physics at not more than 2 sittings.

3). UI requires;
i). ‘O’ level credit in Agricultural Science and a pass in Biology.
ii). requires 5 credit passes in the following subjects; Biology/Agricultural Science, English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and any one of Economics, Geography, and Physics.

4). MOUA requires 5 ‘O’ level credit passes which must not be in more than 2 sittings and should include Biology or Agricultural Science, English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, and any other Science subject. They require that credit in Agric. Science must be backed up with an ‘O’ level pass in Biology.

5). LANDMARK accepts ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Chemistry with an ‘O’ level pass in physics. N.B. an ‘O’ level credit pass in Agricultural Science must be backed up with at least an ‘O’ level pass in Biology.

6). MOUA and FUAM accept ‘O’ level pass in Physics.

7). OAU doesn’t accept Geography and Economics.

8). FUNAAB accepts:
i). Credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
ii). They also require at least an ‘O’ level pass in Physics.
iii). Candidates with an ‘ O’ level pass in Biology must also have an ‘O’ level credit pass in Agricultural Science. They don’t accept Agricultural Science instead of Biology.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

Below are the Direct Entry conditions you must satisfy if you don’t intend to apply for admission to study Agricultural Extension and Rural Development through UTME.

  • You are required to have 2 ‘A’ level passes or equivalents in Chemistry and Agricultural Science/Biology/Botany/Mathematics/Zoology/Economics/Geology/Physics/Geography.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). UNN and FUTO require at least 2 A level passes which must not be below C in Chemistry and any one of Botany, Zoology, Agricultural Science, Mathematics, Biology, Economics, and Physics. They also accept upper credit HND/ND in Agricultural Science but don’t accept NCE and First Degree. Candidates must also ensure they satisfy the UTME requirements.

2). FUNAAB and IMSU accept HND/ND for Direct Entry to 300/200 levels respectively.

3). FUNAAB requires:

i). Two (2) ‘ A’ level credit passes in Chemistry and one in Botany/Zoology/Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
ii). NCE credit in Biology, Agricultural Science, Physics, or Chemistry in addition to the UTME requirements.
iii). HND/ND upper credit in Agriculture which must be from a recognized institution in any 1 of Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Fisheries, Agricultural Technology, Forestry, and Wildlife Management in addition to the UTME requirements.

4). UI accepts HND or ND in the related fields. Agricultural candidates are required to apply for Agriculture Until 500 level when options will be available.

5). LAUTECH accepts ND with upper credit/HND/NCE at credit Level in relevant subjects in addition to the UTME requirements.

6). OAU accepts:

i). ND/HND in Agriculture obtained at upper credit level and it must be from a recognized Institution.
ii). Two (2) `A’ level passes in Chemistry and any 1 of Botany/Zoology/Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics, Mathematics, and Physics.
