O’Level Requirement for Agricultural Economics and Extension

O’Level Requirement for Agricultural Economics and Extension which is also known by most people as WAEC subject combination for Agricultural Economics and Extension is not limited to WAEC only but also includes NECO and GCE. You are required to have not less than five (5) SSC credit passes in the following subjects;

1). Mathematics.

2). Use of English Language

3). Chemistry.

4). Biology/Agricultural Science

5). And one (1) of Geography, Economics and Physics.

WAIVER / SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

i). ESUTECH requires at least a pass in ‘O’ level Physics.

ii). UNICAL requires O’level credit in Physics.

iii). RSUST requires ‘O’ level credit in Agric. Science with at least an O’level pass in Biology. They also require O’level credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry and Economics.

iv). FUTMINNA – Same as in Aquaculture and Fisheries Technology, Water Resources.

v). FUTA and CRUTECH accept at least ‘O’ level pass in Physics plus UTME requirements.

vi). ABSU requires 5 SSC credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and one of Economics or Physics.

vii). PHC – Same as Fisheries.

viii). COOU requires 5 ‘O’ level credit passes in the following subjects English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any one of Physics, Mathematics, Economics and Geography.

ix). MAUTY requires O’level credit passes in Biology/ Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any 1 from Physics/Economics/Geography/ Marketing.

x). LAUTECH requires O’level credit passes in Physics and Biology.

xi). TSUJ accepts Statistics in lieu of Physics.

xii). FUTA requires at least 5 credit passes at SSC or its equivalent at NOT more than 2 sittings in the following subjects: Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography/Economics. At least ‘O’ level pass in Physics is also accepted.

JAMB Subject Combination for Agricultural Economics and Extension

There are three (3) subjects you are required to write in your JAMB UTME examination but first, you ensure that you reach up to 180 which is JAMB’s cut-off mark for this course. As a matter of fact, we urge you to aim for 200 and above to stand a better chance of being admitted on merit into any University in Nigeria. Below are the 3 subjects you will meet in your JAMB UTME examination:

1). Chemistry.

2). Mathematics/Physics.

3). Biology/Agricultural Science.

WAIVER / SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1. JABU requires ‘O’ level pass in Physics.

2. MAUTY requires Agricultural Science/Biology and any other 2 of Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Economics.

3. FUTA requires Chemistry, English Language, Biology/Agric. Science and either Economics or Mathematics.

4. UNICAL and TSUJ require Chemistry, English Language, Biology/Agric. Science and either Physics or Mathematics. TSUJ also accepts Economics.

Direct Entry Requirement for Agricultural Economics & Extension

If you wish to apply for admission into any University in Nigeria, then you must ensure that you meet the following Direct Entry Requirement for Agricultural Economics and Extension which is under the faculty of Agricultural/Vet. Medicine below:

Ensure you have 2 ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and 1 of Geography, Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science/Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Geology and Health Science.

WAIVER / SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1. ABSU accepts ND/HND at credit level.

2. FUAM – As in Agricultural Economics.

3. BAUCHI and EKSU accept ‘O’ level pass in Physics.

4. UNICAL – accepts
i). HND, ND/NCE merit nevertheless, they don’t accept IJMB and accepts at least ‘O’level pass in Physics.
ii). Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in any of Chemistry, Biology/Zoology/ Botany/ Geography/Agricultural Science /Geology /Economics and Mathematics.

5. MAUTY accepts any of the following:
i). GCE `A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science
ii). ND in Agriculture, in addition to ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Agricultural Science/Biology.
iii). IJMB with 7 points in Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology/Agricultural Science.
iv). HND with plus ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics., Chemistry & Biology/Agricultural Science.

6. LAUTECH accepts ND upper credit/HND/NCE at credit level in relevant subjects, in addition to UTME requirements.

7. UNIUYO accepts ND (upper credit) or HND (lower credit), NCE merit in relevant programs in addition to UTME requirements.

8. FUTA accepts
(a) ND or its equivalent professional qualifications at‘A’ level passes in 2 of the following subjects Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology or upper credit.

9. EBSU accepts NCE with minimum merit passes in relevant subjects or ND and HND with a minimum of upper credit in relevant programs.

10. RSUST accepts ND upper credit HND/NCE at credit level in relevant subjects, in addition to UTME requirements into 200 level.

11. TSUJ in addition to UTME requirements accepts
i). ‘A’ level passes to include Chemistry and any of Agricultural Science, Economics, Biology.
ii). HND upper credit and NCE Distinction.
iii). ND lower credit and NCE merit.
