JAMB UTME Subject Combination for Education and Computer Science

If you are an aspiring candidate who wants to apply for Education and Computer Science in a higher institution, then you must ensure you meet up with the JAMB requirements.

One of the requirements is to score up to 180 which happens to be the cut-off mark. Nevertheless, we urge you to aim for 200 and above to stand a better chance of being admitted.

Below is the three (3) JAMB subject combination for Education and Computer Science

1). Physics

2). Mathematics

3). And one (1) of Biology, Geography and Chemistry.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

*. IAUED requires Economics.

*.  BOWEN don’t accept Geography/Physics.

*. LASU accepts Chemistry.

*.  DELSU accepts Economics, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

*. TASUED requires Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.

*. BSU requires Physics, Mathematics and any one (1) subject among Chemistry, Biology, Geography or Economics.

WAEC Subject for Education and Computer Science

Another important requirement you must satisfy when applying for this course is the required WAEC Subject for Education and Computer Science. You must have up to five (5) credit passes in the required subjects listed below:

1). Use of English Language.

2). Mathematics.

3). Physics.

4). And any two (2) other Science subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

*. LASU accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes in Chemistry and Physics.

*. IBBU prefers other subjects in the Sciences.

*. OOU and BU accept ‘O’ Level credit pass in Physics.

*. BIU requires ‘O Level’ credit passes in Physics plus any other 2 Science subjects.

*. UNIPORT require an ‘O’ Level credit pass in Chemistry or Physics.

*. IAUE require an ‘O’ Level credit pass in Use of English Language.

*. BSU accepts 5 credit passes in ‘O Level’ which must include subjects like Mathematics, Physics, English Language, Biology and Chemistry.

*. LCU requires credit ‘O Level’ passes in SSC or its equivalent in Physics, Use of English Language, Maths and any other 2 subjects.

*. TASUED accepts 5 ‘O Level’ credit passes at one(1) sitting or you can decide to bring 6 ‘O Level’ credit passes at two (2) sittings. The subjects include Use of English Language, Physics and Maths plus any 2 or three 3 subjects from Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Agricultural Science and Geography.

*. DELSU accepts 5 ‘O’ Level credit passes in the following subjects Use of English Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry plus one more subject at not more than two (2) sittings.

Requirements for Direct Entry

If you don’t want to use UTME as an aspiring candidate, you must ensure you meet the required Direct Entry requirements before you can stand the chance to be admitted into any University to study Education and Computer Science:

• Two (2) ‘A Level’ passes including Physics or Chemistry.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER)

*. ATBU requires an NCE pass plus 5 years of teaching experience.

*. EKSU accepts a pass in General English in lieu of ‘O’ Level English Language and NCE merit in Computer.

*. OOU requires ND/NCE credit in relevant programmes.

*. LASU requires ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and Mathematics, or NCE at merit in Computer  Education or Mathematics and Physics; OR Equivalents of the above mentioned.

*. EKSU and UNIBEN accept NCE applicants with credit passes in ‘O’ Level Mathematics; while ND holders must fulfil the UTME requirements.

*. BIU same as in Accountancy.

*. IAUE requires 2 ‘A Level’ passes/NCE in Physics and Mathematics, Computer Science. IAUED accepts ND/HND credit in Statistics, Computer Science, Electronics/Accounting and Information Technology.

*. TASUED requires 2  ‘A Level’ passes in Physics or Mathematics, Chemistry.

*. EBSU accepts:
i). Two (2) ‘A Level’ passes in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer, Integrated Science or Mathematics.
ii). HND and NCE/OND with a minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively.

*. BU accepts ‘A Level/ND/IJMB/NCE or their approved equivalents in Physics and Mathematics. You can’t combine Agricultural Science and Biology.

*. BSU accepts:
i). ‘A Level’ pass in any of the acceptable subjects.
ii). Preliminary degree candidates (from Benue State University only). Must have at least 5 out of the 6 subjects studies with a credit pass level of at least 50% in each subject.
iii). At least a merit in NCE (Computer Education) in addition to credit in Physics and Mathematics and credit in Use of English Language at SSC or its equivalent.
iv). GCE/IJMB ‘A Level or its Equivalent in Mathematics and Physics.
v). ND (Diploma in Computer education) or Computer science at upper credits from a recognized institution.
vi). NCE English language can be used in lieu of ‘O’ Level in English language.

*. DELSU requires anything not less than a merit pass and above in NCE, as well as above in DELSU Diploma in Physics Education, Computer Science Education, Chemistry Education or Mathematics Education.

*. i). SSU accepts NCE with credit passes in Computer Science and any other Science subject from (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology) or a double major in addition to the UTME requirements.

*. ii).   IJMB passes in Computer Science and 1 other Science subject, Biology, Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics with UTME requirements.

iii).  ND/HND credit level in Computer Science or any relevant subject into 100 Level.
