O’Level Subject Combinations for Agricultural Engineering

One of the requirements that will qualify you to study this course in any higher institution in Nigeria is your O’Level result. You are expected to have not less than five (5) credit passes in your SSCE in the required five compulsory subjects that will be listed below.

1). Use of English Language.

2). Chemistry.

3). Mathematics.

4). Physics.

5). And Anyone of the listed Materials & Workshop Process and Machining or Intro. to Agric Science, Principles of Crop Husbandry and Land Use, Tractor Layout Power Unit Under Carriage and Auto Electricity, Transmission System, Materials and Workshop Processes; Implement and Machine; General Wood Work and Building/Engineering Drawing; Construction and Maintenance of Agricultural Machines; and general Metal Work.

WAIVER / SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). American University of Nigeria (AUE) requires an O’level credit pass in Agricultural Science or Biology as the fifth subject.

2). ABU prefers an O’level credit pass in Agricultural Science or Biology/Geography as the fifth subject.

3). ESUTECH requires O’level credit passes in English Language and all relevant subjects.

4). BAUCHI also accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.

5). FUNAAB requires 5 O’level credit passes in Mathematics, Biology, Use of English Language, Chemistry & Physics.

6). BAYERO accepts 5 O’level passes in Use of English Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology.

7). FUTO requires any other Science subject as the fifth subject and it must not be in more than 2 sittings.

8). FED-OYE EKITI – Same as in Mechanical Engineering. They also accept ND in Agricultural Engineering.

9). BAUCHI and LAUTECH accept Biology in lieu of Agricultural Science.

10). FUTA accepts five (5) O’level credit passes in Use of English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and any one (1) Science subject at not more than two (2) sittings.

11). MAKURDI accepts 5 O’level credit passes in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and any two (2) from English Language, Agricultural Science/Biology, Geography, Economics, and Technical Drawing. They also accept WAEC Technical or Federal Craft Certificates. Applicants must ensure they have at least a pass in English Language.

12). LANDMARK requires an O’level credit pass in one of the following subjects Biology, Fishery, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing and Agricultural Science as the fifth subject.

JAMB UTME Subject Combinations for Agricultural Engineering

JAMB cut-off mark for this course is 180 but we would advise you to aim for 200 and above to stand a better chance. There are three (3) compulsory subjects required in the JAMB subject combination for Agricultural Engineering and they include:

1). Chemistry.

2). Physics.

3). Mathematics.

WAIVER / SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

a). ABUBAKAR TAFAWA BALEWA UNIVERSITY accepts Biology or Agricultural Science.

b). OOU accepts any 3 of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Agricultural Science/Biology.

c). LANDMARK accepts Biology or Agricultural Science in lieu of Chemistry.

Direct Entry Requirements

If you wish to study this course in any higher institution in Nigeria without UTME, then you must meet the requirements for Direct Entry admission to study Agricultural Engineering.

1). ABU accepts;

i). ‘A’ level/IJMB passes or its equivalents in Mathematics and Physics.
ii) ND upper credit or distinction in Agricultural Bio Resources Engineering and Agricultural Engineering or related from an accredited institution.
iii). HND in Agricultural Bio-Resources Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or related from an accredited institution. But they don’t accept First-degree holders.

2). FUTA accepts or ‘A’ level passes at one sitting in at least two (2) of Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. Or ND upper credit level or its equivalent professional qualification in Agricultural Engineering.

3). LAUTECH and ABUAD – Same as in Chemical Engineering.

4). FUTO accepts 2 ‘A’ level passes which will be not below C in Mathematics and Physics. They also accept ND/HND upper credit level in Engineering in addition to O’Level requirements. They don’t accept NCE or first degree.

5). MAUTY and FUNAAB accept `A’ level passes in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics or its equivalents. FUNAAB also accepts ND upper credit in Agricultural Engineering or other relevant programs

6). Federal University, Oye-Ekiti – Same as in Mechanical Engineering.

7). FUAM accepts;

i). Two (2) `A’ level/IJMB passes in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.

ii). HND lower credit/ND upper credit as well as NCE Technical.

iii). NCE credit passes in relevant programs in addition to UTME requirements.

iv). HND upper credit and a first-class degree in relevant programmes.
