JAMB Subject Combination & Requirements

We would love to inform UTME candidates who want to study education and geography, that they are required to score not less than 180 in their UTME examination to be qualified for this course. They are also going to see three (3) compulsory subjects in their JAMB UTME examination. Below are the three (3) JAMB subject combinations for education and geography.

1). Geography.
2). And any other two (2) Social Sciences/Arts subjects.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
1). IBBU accepts other subjects from the Sciences.

2). TASUED accepts any three (3) subjects from Government, Geography, Economics, Biology, Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, Commerce and Accounting.

3). UNIBEN requires Mathematics, Geography, and any other subject.

4). UNILAG requires any three (3) Of Literature in English, Geography, French/Arabic, History/Government, Mathematics, any Nigerian Language, Commerce/Economics, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies.

5). LASU accepts Government, Geography or Economics.

6). OOU does not accept Arts subjects.

7). MAUTECH accepts Geography and any two (2) of Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry or Agricultural Science/Biology.

8).  IAUE accepts any three (3) subjects.

9). DELSU requires Geography and any two (2) of the following Economics, Government, and Mathematics.

10). AAUA accepts Mathematics, Geography, and any other Social Science or Science subject.

11). UNILAG and UNIILORIN do not accept Physics.

12). KSU accepts any Science subject in addition to the Social Science and Arts.

13). UNIMAID accepts Geography and two (2) other subjects.

O’Level Subject Combination and Requirements

There are five (5) O’Level subjects that are vital to Education and Geography as a course. All candidates applying for the course is expected to possess credit passsess in the required O’Level subjects vital to this course. Please note that the O’Level subjects can be gotten from WAEC, NECO, GCE, and their equivalent. Below are the proper O’level subject combination for Education and Geography.

3). English Language.
4). Two (2) other science or social science subjects.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). UNILAG accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include Geography, Mathematics, English Language, and any two (2) of History/Government, Literature in English, Chemistry, French, Biology, any Nigerian Language, Integrated Science, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies, Economics, Social Studies/Civic Education.

2). ABSU and OOU require Economics or Government.

3). OAU accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes in Physics/Geography and any two (2) of Government, Economics, History, and Mathematics.

4). UNIUYO, UNIPORT, UNICAL, and UDUSOK accept ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics.

5). UDUSOK and UNIABUJA accept ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.

6). IMSU also accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.

7). UNIBEN accepts NCE General General English/Mathematics in place of an ‘O’ Level English Language/Mathematics.

8). EKSU accepts two (2) Social Science subjects.

9). UMYU accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes that must include Mathematics, Geography, English Language, and any two (2) of Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science or Biology.

10). IBBU accepts other subjects from the Sciences.

11). UNIBEN accepts Mathematics, Physics/Geography and one (1) other Social Science subject.

12). ABU and MAUTECH accept TC II and five (5) relevant subjects.

13). ABU accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language, Geography/Physics, and Mathematics and two (2) other subjects from Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

14). AAUA accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include Geography, Mathematics, English Language, and two (2) other Social Science or Science subjects.

15). DELSU accepts at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes that should include Geography, English Language, Mathematics and two (2) other subjects.

16). MAUTECH same as in Education Mathematics.

17). UNIMAID requires ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.

18). BUK accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English language, Geography/Physics and three (3) other Social Science subjects. They also offers Geography/Physics with Science combination. Geography/Physics with 2 other Science subjects. That is, Physics, Biology/Chemistry.

19). UNICAL accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include Mathematics, English Language and any other Social Science subject.

20). TASUED requires six (6) ‘O’ Level credits at two sittings or five (5) ‘O’ Level credits at onw (1) sitting. And they must include Mathematics, Geography, English Language and any two (2) or three (3) from Social Science or Science subjects.

21). IAUE, KSU, and UNILORIN does not accept ‘O’ Level credit pass in Physics in replacement of Geography.

22). LASU accepts ‘O’ Level credit pass in Mathematics. They also does not accept Physics in replacement of Geography.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

For all the candidates who don’t intend to apply to study Education and Geography through UTME should ensure they meet the direct entry admission requirement listed below.

*. Two (2) NCE merit/’A’ Level passes which must include Geography /Physics.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). UNIJOS and EKSU accepts General English at NCE in place of credit in ‘O’ Level English Language or TC II merit.

2). UNILORIN requires two (2) NCE merit/’A’ Level passes which must include Geography/Physics and Economics or Political Science/Government. The University does not accept General English at NCE in replacement for ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language. Also, note that preference will be given to NCE holders for Direct Entry.

3). UNIBEN accepts two (2) or three (3) NCE merit which must include Geography/Physics in addition to three (3) or two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes including Mathematics and English Language at one (1) sitting.

4). UNILAG accept good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects
i). Geography and any two (2) of Government/History, Economics, Igbo/Yoruba, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies.
ii). Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in relevant teaching subjects.

5). EDSU offer the same as in Education Biology.

6). UMYU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Physics/Geography and any other Science subject. They also accept NCE merit in Geography/Physics and any other Science subject.

7). IAUE accept ‘A’ Level passes in Geography and in any other Science subject, Government or Economics.

8). OAU requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects and it must include Geography/Physics in addition to other subject chosen from among Business Methods, Economics, Government, Mathematics. They may also accept NCE Social Studies combined with any Social Science subject.

9). AAUA accepts:
i). NCE merit in Education, Geography and any other from Mathematics, Economics, Government or other relevant subject.
ii). They also accept two (2) ‘A’ Level passes from Economics, Geography, and Government/History.
iii). ND in Geography, Environmental Management, Information System; ND upper credit in Estate Management and Town Planning.

10). TASUED accepts:
i). Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE merit in Geography and any one of Social Science subject.

11). UMYU requires an ‘A’ Level passes in Geography and any other Science subject, Government or Economics. They also accept NCE credit in Geography and any other Social Science or Science subjects.

12). ABU accepts:
i). Two (2) NCE merit/‘A’ Level passes in Physics/Geography and Education.
ii). IJMB/’A’ Level passes with C grade in Geography/Physics.
iii). LASU does not accept Physics in place of Geography.
iv). TASUED requires two (2) NCE merit or ‘A’ Level passes in Geography and one (1) of Social Science subjects.

13). MAUTECH accepts NCE merit in addition to three (3) relevant credits ‘O’ Level passes /TC II.

14). DELSU accepts:
i). NCE merit passes and above in Geography and one other Social Science subject.
ii). ‘A’ Level credit passes which must include Geography.

15). MAUTECH requires NCE distinction/’A’ Level passes or its equivalent in two (2) relevant subjects, merit or credit.
