O’Level Requirements for Applied Geology

Five O’level subjects are compulsory if you want to study Applied Geology in any higher institution. You are required to have credit passes in the subject in your SSCE examination. The compulsory five (5) required O’Level subjects for Applied Geology includes:

1). Chemistry.
2). English Language.
3). Mathematics.
4). Biology.
5). And any other subject.

NOTE: The O’level subjects apply to NECO, GCE, WAEC or their equivalent.

WAIVER/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

i). BASU accepts Agricultural Science in place of Biology.

ii). BASU requires 5 ‘O’ level credit passes in Biology, Physics, English Language, Chemistry and Mathematics.

iii). FUTA accepts 5 ‘O’ level credit passes at not more than 2 sittings or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry,  and either Agricultural  Science or Biology or Geography.

JAMB Subject Combination for Applied Geology

It’s a good thing that you know the proper JAMB Subject Combination for Applied Geology, but another important thing is to be able to reach the JAMB cut-off mark for Applied Geology which is 180. We urge you to aim for 200 and above to stand a better chance of gaining admission on merit.

Applied Geology Direct Entry Requirements

For candidates who desire to study Applied Geology without UTME, you must ensure that you satisfy the Direct Entry Requirements for Applied Geology which is below:

• Two (2) ‘A’ level passes from Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.

WAIVER/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

1). BASU accepts IJMB/’A’ level passes in any 3 of the following subjects; Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Mathematics. ND lower credit in Geology which must be from a recognized Polytechnic. The applying candidate must also have 5 ‘O’ level credit passes in the following subjects English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science and Biology.

2). FUTA accepts ND upper credit in Geology, Mining Engineering or Mineral Resources or ‘A’ level passes or its equivalent in 2 Science subjects which must include Mathematics and Chemistry.
