O’Level Subjects & Admission Requirement.

Direct Entry and UTME candidates applying to study Education and Physics in any higher institution are expected to meet certain O’Level requirements. As a matter of fact, they are expected to have not less than five (5) SSC credit passes in the following subjects that are required to study Education and Physics.

1). English Language.
2). Mathematics.
3). Physics.
4). And two (2) other Science subjects or NTC/NBC.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). GOMSU also accepts D7 in English Language.

2). UMYU and IAUE require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two (2) subjects preferably Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography/Physics, and Biology.

3). MAUTECH accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language or a pass in NCE or TC II General English.

4). LCU accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in Physics, Mathematics, English Language, and any other two (2) Science subjects.

5). UNIBEN requires two (2) other Science subjects, one (1) of which must be either Chemistry/Agricultural Science/Biology/Further Mathematics.

6). OAU expects candidates to present five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which should include the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, English Language and two (2) other subjects, one (1) of which should be Agricultural Science or Chemistry or Biology or Additional Further Mathematics.

7). UNIJOS doesn’t require Integrated Science.

8). ABU accepts TC II merit.

9). TASUED accepts six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings or five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting. The subjects are to include English Language, Physics, Mathematics and any other three (3) or two (2) subjects from Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography,  Computer Science and Agricultural Science.

10). UNIUYO requires a credit pass in Chemistry. They may also accept a D7 in English Language.

11). AAUA accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in the following subject: Physics, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics and any of Biology or Agricultural Science.

12). UNILAG accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and any one (1) of Further Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Computer science/Data Processing, Integrated Science.

13). GOMSU accepts ‘O’ Level credit pass in Chemistry.

14). IMS and BU accept ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics/Further Mathematics and Chemistry.

15). KSU requires the two (2) other subjects from Biology, Agricultural Science, Social Sciences, Chemistry, and Economics.

16). LASU accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics and English Language.

17). DELSU requires at least five SSC ‘O’ Level credit passes in the following subjects: Physics, English Language, Mathematics, and two (2) other relevant science or social science subjects.

18). UNIOSUN requires the other two (2) subjects should include Geography and any other relevant science subjects.

JAMB Subject Combination and Requirements.

First of all, UTME candidates should note that English Language is compulsory in JAMB UTME for this course. Thus, the other three (3) JAMB subject combination for Education and Physics includes the following subjects:

1). Physics.

2). Mathematics or Chemistry

3). And any one (1) other subjects.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). UNIBEN requires Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry or Biology.
2). AAUA requires Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
3). IAUE requires the other subjects to include any of  Geography, Chemistry or Biology.
4). UNIMAID accepts Physics and any two (2) Science Subjects.
5). UNIBEN and OAU require Mathematics, Physics, and any other Science subject.
6). FUAM requires Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
7). DELSU accepts Mathematics and any other Social Science/Arts/Science subjects.
8). UNILAG requires Mathematics/Chemistry, Physics, and one (1) of Agricultural Science or Biology.
9). MAUTECH requires Mathematics, Physics and any one (1) of Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Geography.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements for Education and Physics

This section is strictly for UTME candidates. They are required to meet with direct entry admission requirements for education and physics which is under the faculty of Education. Below are the requirements for education and physics for direct entry candidates.

1).  Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics.
2). NCE credit/merit in relevant subjects.

WAIVER/ SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). UNICAL accepts ND, but only from recognized institutions.

2). IMSU requires NCE merit into two (2) year program and less than merit into a three (3)-year program. They also require a pass in English Language in addition.

3). UNILAG accepts:
i). Very good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects which must include Chemistry, Physics and any one (1) of Mathematics or Biology.
ii). They also accept two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics.
iii). NCE credit/merit in Physics and one (1) of Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry plus UTME requirements. They don’t accept Geography

4). OAU requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and any other Science subject. Or NCE with credit/merit in any relevant teaching subject in combinations with Physics. Aspiring candidates with NCE in Auto-mechanic are also eligible.

5). DELSU requires:
i). Merit passes and above in Physics and either Chemistry or GCE ‘A’ Level passes including Physics or Education at NCE.
ii). They also accept Diploma (DELSU).

6). UNIUYO accepts candidates without NCE or ‘A’ Level Mathematics but they must take remedial in the subject at 100 level.

7). UNIJOS accepts NCE General English.

8). BUK requires NCE merit in Physical Health Education with any two (2) Science subjects.

9). SSU also requires;
i). NCE with passes in two (2) relevant subjects. Or a double major subject in addition to the UTME requirements.
ii). They also accept IJMB passes in two (2) relevant subjects in addition to the UTME requirements.
iii). ND/HND credit in any relevant programme into 100 levels is also accepted.

10). BSU accepts NCE at the merit level.

11). FUAM requires;
i). Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Physics and any of the following: Further Mathematics, Biology, Technical Drawing or Geology.
ii). They also accept ND upper credit in the relevant programme plus UTME requirements.

12). LASU accepts NCE Technical with merit in relevant subjects.

13). UNIBEN requires three (3) or two (2) merit in NCE which must include Physics and three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Physics, and Mathematics at one (1) sitting.

14). EKSU accepts General English at NCE in place of ‘O’ Level credit pass in English language.

15). UMYU requires ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics. They also accept credit or merit in NCE.

16). RSUST accepts any Science subject as the third (3rd) subject.

17). TASUED accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics or NCE merit in two (2) core related subjects. They also ND/HND upper credit in Physics Electronics.

18). AAUA accepts three (3) merit at NCE in Education and two (2) other relevant teachings (Science) subjects.

20). BU accepts ND/NCE/IJMB/’A’ Level or approved equivalents in Physics and Mathematics.

21). ATBU accepts NCE pass with five (5)-years of teaching experience.
