O’Level Subjects & Requirements For Religious Studies

UTME candidates are required to have at least five (5) SSC credit passes which must include the following O’Level (NECO, GCE, WAEC) subjects:

1). CRS/IS.
2). English Language.
3). Mathematics (At least a Pass).
4). Two (2) subjects from Arts or Social Sciences.

UNIVERSITY SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). AUE requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics and accepts credit passes in Arabic/IS/Government or equivalent/any Nigerian Language.

2). UNIKINGS requires an ‘O’ level pass in Mathematics.

3). NDU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in Religious Studies, and English Language, in addition to three (3) other subjects, two (2) of which must be Arts subjects.

4). UNIUYO requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, CRS, and any other three (3) subjects from Arts or Social Sciences.

5). AUGUSTINE requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes or equivalent in Literature-in-English, English Language, CRS/IS, and any other Arts subject.

6). PAUL requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings (or equivalent) including Mathematics, English Language, and three (3) Arts/Social Science subjects.

7). AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes which must include CRS/IS, Mathematics, English Language, and two (2) other subjects from the Arts or Social Sciences.

8). GOUU requires an ‘O’ level credit pass in Mathematics.

9). UNIBEN requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes or five (5) Merit level passes in TC II at not more than two (2) sittings. Subjects should include Religious Studies, English Language, and two (2) other Arts or Social Science subjects.

JAMB Subjects Combination & Requirement For Religious Studies

Below are the four (4) accurate JAMB subject combinations for Religious Studies which happen to be under the faculty of Arts & Humanities. Below are the subjects:

1). AUGUSTINE requires IS/CRS and any other Arts subjects.

2). OAU and AAU require CRS/IS and an Arts or a Social Science subject.

3). UNIUYO requires CRS and two (2) other subjects from Social Sciences or Arts.

4). EKSU and AAUA require two (2) Arts subjects and one (1) other subject.

5). UNIBEN accepts any three (3) subjects.

6). SAU requires CRS, History or Government, and any other Arts subject.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements For Religious Studies

Candidates who want to apply for admission to study Religious Studies through Direct Entry should ensure that they meet the following Direct Entry requirements:

  • Two (2) ‘A’ level subjects which must include Religious Studies (CRS/IS).

UNIVERSITY SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

1). DELSU and ABSU accept HND/ND/NCE in Religious or Social Studies or ‘A’ level in three (3) subjects which must include Religion studies.

2). JABU accepts five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects which must include HND or ND.

3). AAU accepts two (2) ‘A’ level passes which must include CRS and one (1) other Arts subject.

4). AAUA accepts ND, NCE, or two (2) ‘A’ level passes from the Social Sciences or Arts program.

5). UNIZIK accepts NCE merit in Religious Studies with four (4) ‘O’ level credit passes in other subjects.

6). AUE requires two (2) ‘A’ level passes which must include Literature-in-English and other Arts subjects or NCE credit in English/Political Science.

7). AUGUSTINE accepts two (2) ‘A‘ level passes in any relevant subjects, NCE and ND (credit) in relevant program/subjects plus UTME requirements.

8). UNIKINGS requires an ‘O’ level pass in Mathematics.

9). UNIBEN accepts the following:
i). Two (2) passes in Social Sciences and Arts at one (1) sitting.
ii). NCE credit in CRS or IS/Arabic studies or Social Studies or Religious Studies. In addition, candidates should have an overall credit level pass.
iii). ND credit in Mass Communication.
iv). Any other three (3) subjects.

10). OAU accepts two (2) ‘A’ level passes which must include CRS/IS.

11). BSU accepts NCE/’A’ level passes in African Religion, CRS, or its equivalent.

12). UNIPORT and IMSU – No Direct Entry.

13). UNIUYO requires two (2) ‘A’ level passes in the following subjects: CRS or NCE Merit in three (3) subjects which must include CRS.

14). UNIJOS accepts two (2) or three (3) year ND/NCE merit.

15). UNIUYO requires two (2) ‘A’ level passes in subjects that must include CRS or NCE Merit in three (3) subjects to include CRS.

16). OAU and SAU accept NCE in Religious Studies (CRS or IS).

17). UNICAL also accepts NCE in Religious Studies.

18). UNI-IBADAN accepts NCE merit in Religious Studies.

19). MCPHERSON accepts NCE merit/credit and good passes in IJMB/JUPEB in relevant subjects.
