UTME and Direct Entry Admission Requirements For Education and Science
Whether you are applying for admission to study Education and Science as a UTME candidate or a Direct Entry candidate, below you will find the appropriate requirements needed.
O’Level Subjects and Requirements
As a UTME candidate, you are required to have at least five (5) SSCE credit passes in the required O’Level subject. The five (5) O’level (NECO, GCE, WAEC) subjects required to study Education and Science includes the following:
1). Mathematics.
2). English Language.
3). Any subject got from Science/ Social Sciences.
4). Any two other Science subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR EACH UNIVERSITY
1. FUTMINNA requires any three (3) other science subjects.
2. RSUST accepts a pass in Mathematics and English Language in exceptional cases.
3. NDU requires five (5) O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, and any other three (3) subjects, of which two (2) must be science subjects in not more than two sittings.
4. UNN requires five (5) SSCE credit passes which must include Mathematics, English Language and two other Science subjects. One subject must be the proposed teaching subject. For Integrated Science five (5) credit passes which must include a credit in at least one Science subject and pass in two (2) other Science subjects.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination For Education and Science
Please note that in UTME, English Language is Compulsory for all courses. Below are the other three (3) JAMB UTME subjects required to study Education and Science which is under the Faculty of Education:
1). Three (3) relevant Science or NBC subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR EACH UNIVERSITY
1. UNN requires English Language and any other three (3) Science subjects gotten from either Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Agric Science, Health Science.
Direct Entry Admission Requirements
For those who don’t intend to apply for this course using UTME, below are the Direct Entry admission requirements to study Education and Science:
i). Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in relevant Science subjects which must include candidates proposed course.
ii). NCE merit/credit passes in addition to TC II merit or SSCE credit in relevant subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR EACH UNIVERSITY
1). NDU is the same as Vocational and Technical Education.
2). UNN accepts Candidates with National Diploma (ND) in other areas at merit, credit, or distinction level who also possess the University minimum entry requirement in addition to credit in the teaching subject may likely be considered for Direct Entry admission but will run the 4-year programme.
3). RSUST in addition to the ‘O’ Level requirements accepts the following:
a). HND (Lower Credit) in a related discipline.
b). ND, OND with a minimum of Upper credit.
c) NCE in the relevant Science Education program with a minimum of Pass.
d). Two (2) GCE A’ Level, HSC in two subjects taken from either Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Physics or their combinations.
