O’Level Subjects & Requirement for Applied Botany

You are required to possess not less than five (5) SSCE credit passes in your O’level subjects. The O’level subjects for botany are applicable to NECO, GCE, WAEC & their equivalent. The five (5) O’level subjects required to study botany includes;

1). Maths.
2). Biology.
3). Chemistry.
4). English Language.
5). And any one of Health Science, Physics, Statistics, and Geography.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

i). BASU requires 5 ‘O’ level credit passes in the following subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language and any 3 other relevant Science subjects from Biology or Agricultural  Science, Chemistry, and Geography.

JAMB Subject Combination & Requirements

There are three (3) compulsory subjects that you are going to meet in your JAMB UTME examination and though it is good to know the subject before time, it’s also important that you reach the JAMB cut-off mark for this course which is 180. Nevertheless, we urge you to aim for 200 and above to stand a better chance of been given an admission to study botany at Nigerian University. Below is the JAMB subject combination required to study botany:

1). Chemistry,
2). Biology
3). Physics or Mathematics.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

i). BASU requires Geography and not Mathematics.

Direct Entry Admission Requirement for Applied Botany

There are conditions you must satisfy to be able to gain Direct Entry admission to study Applied Botany, should in case you don’t want to use UTME.

You require to have Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Biology and either Physics or Chemistry.

WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

i). BASU accepts IJMB/A Level/GCE A Level Credit passes in Chemistry, Biology, and any one of the following 3 subjects Physics, Mathematics or Agricultural Science. National Diploma (ND) Pass with at least Lower Credit in the following: Agriculture and Food Science Technology, Science Lab Technology or Forestry. The Applicant must also have the 5 O’ Level requirements which must include Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Agricultural Science or Biology, and Geography or Physics.
