O’Level Subjects and Admission Requirements

Candidates are expected to satisfy certain UTME requirements to be qualified to study Horticulture. As a candidate who wants to study Horticulture you are expected to have at least five (5) SSC credit passes in the following subjects:

O’level subject combination and requirements for Horticulture:

1). Chemistry.
2). English Language.
3). Mathematics.
4). Biology or Agric Science.
5). Physics, Geography or Economics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND REMARKS

i). FUNAAB requires at least five (5) SSC credit passes in which must include Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Candidates with an ‘O’ level pass in Biology are required to possess an ‘O’ level credit pass in Agricultural Science. FUNAAB doesn’t accept Agricultural Science in place of Biology.

ii). FUTMINNA requires at least five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and any one (1) of Geography, Physics, or Economics. At least an ‘O’ level pass in Physics is required.

JAMB Subject Combination for Horticulture

UTME candidates should be informed that English Language is a Compulsory subject for this course. The other three (3) JAMB UTME subjects required to study Horticulture under the Faculty of Agriculture in the Universities listed below include the following:

1). Chemistry,
2). Biology/Agriculture
3). Any of one of Geography, Mathematics, Physics, and Economics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND REMARKS

i). FUNAAB does not accept Geography or Economics.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

Candidates who are not going to be using UTME are required to meet with the following direct entry admission requirements in order to qualify to study Horticulture. They are required to have:

• • Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one of Biology, Botany, Zoology, or Agric Science.

i). FUTMINNA accepts ND/HND, not below lower credit.
