  • AAU with Options in (Accounting Education, Business Education, Home Economics Education, Agricultural Science Education, Secretarial Studies Education, and Technical Education).
  • EBSU with options in (Electrical/Electronics Technology, Building/Woodworks Technology, Mechanical/Metalwork Technology, and Agriculture Education).
  • TASUED with options in (Accountancy Education, Commerce/Cooperative Education, Electrical/Electronic Tech. Educ, Agricultural Education, Building/Wood Work Tech. Educ, Mechanical Tech. Education).
  • NDU with options in (Business Education, Agriculture Education, Home Economics, Office Management Technology Education)

O’Level Subjects & Requirements For Vocational & Technical Education(UTME)

JAMB Subject Combination for Vocational & Technical Education

There are five (5) general O’Level (NECO, GCE, WAEC) subjects required to study Vocational and Technical Education. UTME candidates are required to have at least five (5) SSC credit passes in NTC, City and Guilds Part I, or WAEC Technical and Federal Craft Training Certificate which must include the following:

1). English Language.
2). Mathematics.
3). Technical Drawing.
4). Physics.
5). The subject of specialization.



1). EKSU accepts a pass in NCE General English in place of an ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language.

2). ESUTECH requires the following subjects:
i). For Technical Education, they require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Physics or Chemistry and two (2) other relevant subjects.
ii). For Accounting/Commerce and Cooperative, they require at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Commerce or Economics and Principle of Accounts, in addition to one (1) other relevant subjects.
iii). For Agriculture, five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, and Chemistry, Geography or Agricultural Science and one (1) other relevant subjects.

3). BSU also requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in Physics, Mathematics, English Language, and any two (2) of Technical Drawing, Chemistry, Geography, Woodwork, Metalwork, Electrical Technology, or Building Technology.

4). AAU accepts an ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics for Secretarial Education.

5). UNIOSUN also requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects or their equivalents at not more than two (2) sittings plus an acceptable score in the UTME.

6). EBSU requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes for Technology Option in Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry or Physics and two (2) other Science subjects. For Agriculture Option: They also require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Biology or Agriculture Science and two (2) other relevant subjects and an ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry.

7). NDU as in Business Management or Accountancy option. They also accept an ‘O’ Level credit passes in Office Management Technology or Commerce or Economics; ‘O’ Level credit pass in Agricultural Science or Biology for Home Economics Education and Agriculture Education.

JAMB Subject Combination For Vocational & Technical Education

1). English Language(*Compulsory for all courses).
2). The subject of specialization.
3). Mathematics or Physics.


1). BSU requires any three (3) from Geography, Mathematics or Physics, and Chemistry.
2). NDU is the same as in Agriculture Economics for Agriculture Education and Home Economics options.
3). NDU is the same as in Accountancy and Secretarial Administration for Business and Secretarial Education options respectively.


Direct Entry candidates should ensure they satisfy the conditions below for admission consideration to study Vocational and Technical Education ;

  • NCE merit in Technical Education.
  • ND in Mechanical/Electrical or Electronics Engineering.


1). UNIOSUN accepts candidates with any of the following qualifications:
i). Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects with ‘O’ Level credit passes in three (3) other subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
ii). Three (3) passes in relevant subjects at ‘A’ Level with ‘O’ Level credit passes in two (2) other subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
iii). NCE merit in two (2) relevant subjects.
iv). ‘O’ Level credit passes or its equivalent in three (3) subjects, including English Language.

2). BSU accepts ND, ANTC, and NCE, with credit passes in NTC, SSC, City and Guilds, and WAEC Technical with credit pass in Federal Craft certificate.

3). BSU awards B.Sc Ed Technology.

4). AAU accepts the following:
i). A pass in General English at NCE levels as an equivalent of ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language.
ii). AAU accepts NCE merit in Home Economics. ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics is acceptable in Secretarial Education. Accepts Economics/Commerce for Accounting Education; Agriculture and one (1) other Science subjects for Agriculture Education while Biology or any other Science subject is required for Home Economics.

5). TASUED also accepts National Technical Teachers’ Certificate (NTTC) in Education with passes in City and Guilds and Federal Craft Training Certificate or its equivalent.

6). NDU accepts the following:
Direct Entry into 300 Level in a 4-year Degree Programme
i). NCE credit or higher in two (2) major subjects in relevant areas.
ii). HND Certificate with passes at credit level or higher in a relevant program.
iii). For B.Ed Technology program Holders of NCE and HND credit or higher in the relevant program.
Direct Entry into 200 Level in a 4-year Degree Programme
i). Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects.
ii). ND (credit/upper credit) in any relevant program.
iii). NCE merit in two (2) relevant subjects.
iv). For B.Ed Technology program, holders of NCE, NBC/NTC merit, City and Guilds in relevant subjects.

7). EBSU accepts HND, NCE, and ND merit and Upper credit respectively in the relevant program.
