JAMB Subject Combination for Business Management
There are three (3) subjects that you will meet in your JAMB UTME examination and you are expected to score up to the JAMB cut-off mark for Business And Entrepreneurship Studies which is 180 for Universities.
JAMB Subjects for Business Management in faculty of Administration:
1). Economics.
2). Mathematics.
3). And one (1) other subject.
WAIVER/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
a). AUN same as in Finance.
b). OOU requires the third (3rd) subject to be a Social Science subject.
c). LAGOS requires Economics, Mathematics, English Language, and any other subject from Science, Arts, or Social Science.
d). UNIZIK is not making Economics a compulsory subject.
e). UNIUYO, UNN, and COOU – Same as in Banking and Finance.
f). RSUST and EBSU – Also the same as in Accountancy.
g). ABU requires Mathematics, Economics, and any Social Science or Management subject.
h). FED-DUTSINMA requires Commerce/Economics, Mathematics, and any other Social Science subject.
i). EVANGEL accepts Economics or Mathematics in addition to any two (2) relevant Social Science or Arts subjects.
O’Level Subjects to Study Business Management
You will find the UTME SUBJECT COMBINATION for Business Management which happens to be under the faculty of Administration.
You are required to have not less than five (5) SSC credit passes in the required O’Level subjects which have been listed below. Also note that the O’Level requirements apply to NECO, GCE, WAEC, and their equivalent.
NECO, GCE, WAEC Subject Combinations for Business Management:
1). Mathematics.
2). Economics.
3). English Language
4). And any two (2) subjects of Business Methods, Accounting, Commerce, Geography, Statistics, and Government.
WAIVER/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
a). ABUJA and COOU accept Commerce instead of Economics.
b). ABU requires five (5) SSC credit passes in your ‘O’ level subjects which must include English Language, Mathematics, economics, and any two (2) subjects.
c). UNIPORT, EBSU, and RSUST -Same as in Accountancy.
d). LAGOS requires five (5) SSC credit passes in your ‘O’ level subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language, Economics, and two (2) subjects from Financial Accounting, Geography, Government, Business Management, CRS/IS.
e). PLASU is the same as in Accounting.
f). UNIPORT doesn’t accept commercial subjects.
g). FED-DUTSINMA requires five (5) SSC credit passes in your ‘O’ level subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language, Economics/Marketing/Entrepreneurship/Commerce, and any two (2) subjects.
i). AUN same as in Finance.
j). UNIZIK accepts Mathematics, English, and any 3 relevant subjects.
k). UNN is the same as in Banking and Finance.
l). AAUA requires 2 other ‘O’ level credit passes in any of Accounting, Commerce, Government, and Geography.
m). UNIZIK accepts a pass in Economics.
n). PLASU accepts Principles of Accounts or Commerce instead of Economics.
Direct Entry (DE) Admission Requirements to Study Business Management
The Business Management Direct Entry admission requirement has been listed below for candidates who don’t intend to apply for admission using UTME.
Direct Entry (DE) requirement for Business Management:
- Two (2) ‘A’ level passes from Business Management, Economics, Accounts, Government, Statistics, or Geography.
WAIVER/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
A). ADSU is the same as in Public Administration.
B). ABU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level/IJMB passes in Social Science/Management subjects which must be in Economics.
C). EBSU requires HND, ND/NCE pass at credit/merit level in relevant programs plus ‘O’ level requirements. Note that the ND must be at the upper credit level.
D). ESUTECH accepts ND in relevant programs though it must be within the same Faculty into 200 level plus the UTME requirements.
E). AAUA requires an ‘A’ level pass in Business Administration or Economics.
F). ED-DUTSINMA requires 2 ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and Economics or any Social Science subject. They also require NCE/ND with good grades in Business Management and it must be from a recognized institution.
G). AUN same as in Finance.
H). UNIPORT doesn’t accept Direct Entry into this course.
I). PLASU accepts:
1). Degree in any program only if the candidate satisfies the ‘O’ level requirements
2). ND lower credit in relevant programs in addition to the ‘O’ level requirements.
3). HND lower credit in relevant programs in addition to the ‘O’ level requirements,
4). IJMB minimum of 7 points with passes in relevant subjects in addition to the ‘O’ level requirement.
5). PLASU doesn’t accept university diplomas and other diplomas not accredited by the relevant accrediting bodies.
J). AAUA accepts HND lower credit or ND upper credit in relevant programs in addition to UTME requirements.
K). WELLSPRING accepts NABTEB, IJMB, ND, and NCE ‘A’ level, while HND passes at credit/lower credit level in relevant programs/subjects plus the ‘O’ level requirements.
L). MCPHERSON accepts:
1) IJMB/JUPEB/ATS (Final) of ICAN or approved equivalent in related programs.
2) Professional or AIB qualifications in relevant programs.
M). LAGOS requires Very good passes in 3 JUPEB/’A’ Level subjects which must include Economics and any 2 of Business Management, Financial Accounting, Mathematics, Government, and Geography.
N). UYO accepts ND upper credit, while HND lower credit in relevant programs.
O). UNN accepts
1). NCE/ND/HND
2). Professional qualification or AIB and HND in relevant programs.
P). OOU accepts NCE/ND/HND.
Q). UNIZIK accepts Mathematics but not Geography. They also want candidates to possess UTME requirements in addition.
R). UNN requires two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Economics and any other subject.
S). NASARAWA accepts IJMB in relevant subjects, not below the ten (10) points or AIB or other Professional qualifications, and HND (lower credit) in relevant programs.
T). UDU – as applicable to Accounting.
U). JOS accepts ND lower credit, while BAYER and DELSU (upper credit) are in relevant programs.
V). EVANGEL, UYO, OOU – The same as in Banking and Finance.
W). ABUJA accepts 2 ‘A’ level credit passes in Commerce and Economics, while ten (10) points in IJMB in relevant subjects or ND or NCE at upper credit level plus ‘O’ level requirements.
X). IGBINEDION, RSUST, BSU, and EKSU – as in Accountancy.
Y). COOU, EBSU, and MADONNA accept AIB and Degree/HND, ND lower credit in relevant programs.
