JAMB Subject Combination for Physical Education

If you want to study Physical Education, you must pay attention to all the requirements on this page. The information on this page was extracted from the current official JAMB Brochure. We are going to be listing the required O’Level and JAMB subjects alongside the Direct Entry admission requirements below.

O’Level Subjects and Requirements

To be eligible to study Physical Education, it’s important you know the required O’Level subject for the course. You are required to have the following O’Level requirements:

i). Five (5) SSC credit passes/TC II merit passes which must include Biology, English Language, Mathematics, or its equivalent.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION AND REMARKS

1). DELSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit/TC II Merit which must include Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and any other two (2) subjects that must be in not more than two (2) sitting.

2). DELSU requires Biology, English Language, and an ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics.

3). UNIBEN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credits pass/TC II merit which must include English Language and any other one (1) Science subject.

4). UNIMAID requires an ‘O’ Level credit pass in Mathematics.

5). UNIZIK requires English, Mathematics, Biology, Health and Physical Education, or Health Science/Health Education.

6). UNN requires the following for Physical Education:
i). Five (5) O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Biology/Physical Education/ Health Science/ Agriculture Science at not more than two(2) sittings.
ii).  TC II merit in five (5) subjects which must include English Language, Physical Education/Biology/Agricultural Science.

7). UNIUYO requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Chemistry and English Language.

JAMB Subject Combination for Physical Education

UTME candidates should be informed that English Language is Compulsory in their JAMB UTME examination. Below are the other three (3) JAMB UTME subject combinations required to study Physical Education under the faculty of Education.

1). Biology.
2). Any two (2) relevant subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION AND REMARKS

1). UNIBEN requires one (1) subject from Science and two (2) other Science or Social Science subjects.
2). DELSU requires Health Science/Biology and any other two (2) subjects.
3). UNN requires Biology and any other two (2) relevant subjects.
4). MAIDUGURI requires Biology and two (2) other subjects from Science or Social Science.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

All those candidates who will not be applying to study Physical Education through UTME should ensure that meet the following admission requirements for Physical Education below:

i). Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in any of Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Physics.

ii). NCE merit in Physical Education and credit in Mathematics or Arithmetical process.

iii). Diploma in Environmental Sanitation, Health Education, Social Work, Physical Education, and Health Administration with overall grades of merit in addition to three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes/TC II merit which should include English Language.

iv). NCE in Health Education, Biology, and Integrated Science with a passing grade in addition to two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes/TC II merit passes.

v). Registered Nurse in addition to five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION AND REMARKS

i). DELSU accepts NCE Merit in Health Education, Merit in DELSU Diploma in Health Education, Environmental Sanitation, Health Administration, Social Works, and Registered Nurse.

ii). BUK accepts a certificate in Nursing.

iii). UNIUYO also accepts Technical Teachers Certificate in Health Education.

iv). UNN accepts the following: For Physical Education.
a).  Two (2) or more ‘A’ Level passes one (1) will come from Biology/Zoology in addition to the UTME requirements.
b). NCE merit in Physical and Health Education/Food AND Nutrition/Integrated Science.
c). Merit in National Institute for Sports (NIS) certificate.

v). UNIZIK requires ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language and Food and Nutrition or Biology for both the UTME and Direct Entry candidates.

vi). UNIMAID requires a Certificate in Midwifery/Nursing or equivalent plus Direct Entry requirements.

vii). UNIBEN requires three (3) or two (2) NCE merit chosen from Health Education, Physical Education, Integrated Science, and Biology in addition to two (2)two (2) or three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language at one (1) sitting.

viii). UNIUYO accepts candidates without NCE or ‘A’ Level in Mathematics but must take remedial in the subject in year one (1).

ix). BUK accepts NCE in Physical Health Education which must not be below merit level. It also accepts a Certificate in Nursing.

x). UNIUYO and UNIZIK accept NRN/RN, Advanced Diploma in Health Education, Public Health Nursing Officers’ Certificate, Health Superintendent Certificate, and equivalent qualifications. UNIZIK accepts Nursing only in addition to the UTME requirements.

xi). UNIBEN requires two (2) NCE merit one (1) of which must be in Health Education, Integrated Science, or Biology in addition to three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include English Language at one (1) sitting.
