O’Level Subject and Requirements

JAMB Subject Combination for Educational Management

Credit To Areadne. EU

Your O’Level result plays a vital role in deciding whether you are eligible to study this course at any of the Universities listed on this page. As a UTME candidate, you are required to have at least five (5) SSC credit passes in the following O’Levels (NECO, GCE, WAEC) subjects required to study Educational Management:

  • Five (5) O Level NTC/NBC credit passes or TC II merit which must include English Language with an O’Level pass in Mathematics.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR EACH UNIVERSITY

Below is the special consideration for each University listed on this page. If the special consideration of your desired University conflicts with the general requirement listed above, then you must ensure you satisfy that of the University.

1). AAUA requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must include Mathematics, English Language, Economics, and any other two (2) subjects.

2). TASUED requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings. The subjects should include Economics, Mathematics, English Language, and two (2) other subjects from Arts, Social Sciences, or Sciences

3). ILORIN accepts ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics in place of credit pass.

4). BSU accepts GR II Teachers Certificate with merit/credit in five (5) subjects which must include Mathematics and English Language at not more than two (2) sittings.

5). IBADAN requires at least five(5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting and it must include Economics, Mathematics, English Language, and other subjects from Social Sciences, Arts, or Sciences.

6). LASU requires a credit pass in the candidate’s teaching subject. The teaching subjects are Accounting, Economics, Political Science, Geography, Business Administration or Business Studies, and Government.

JAMB Subject Combination for Educational Management

Please UTME candidates should note that English Language is a compulsory subject they will meet in their UTME. Below are the other three (3) JAMB UTME subject combinations required to study Educational Management which is under the Faculty of Education:

1). Economics.
2). Mathematics.
3). And one (1) other Arts/Social Science subject.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR EACH UNIVERSITY

1). NDU accepts Social Sciences subjects.
2). TASUED – Government, Mathematics, and any other relevant subject from Arts and Social Science or Science.
3). LASU requires candidates’ teaching subject or any other subject where the candidates’ teaching subject is Economics.
4). IBADAN requires the English Language, the subject of specialization, and one (1) each from Social Sciences, Arts, or Sciences.
5). UNIBEN: Accepts the following:
a). Management Economics: Economics, Mathematics, and any one (1) other Social Sciences/Arts Subject.
b). Management Political Science and Public Administration: History or Government, one (1) Social Science subject and any other subject.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

Below are the conditions you must satisfy to gain a Direct Entry admission to study Educational Management if you don’t intend to use UTME. The Direct Entry requirement includes:

  • Same as in Educational Psychology, Guidance, and Counseling.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION FOR EACH UNIVERSITY

1). AAUA requires three (3) NCE merit in Education and any two (2) teaching subjects.

2). ILORIN (Direct Entry only): Requires NCE with a Teaching Subject in Social Sciences, Arts, or Agricultural Education.

3). IBADAN – Requires the same as in Adult Education.

4). LASU requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or NCE merit which must include the candidate’s teaching subject. Note that the teaching subjects are Geography, Economics, Government or Political Science, Business Administration or Business Studies, and Accounting. Does not accept ND or HND.

5). TASUED requires NCE merit/’A’ Level passes in relevant teaching subjects. They also accept ND/HND with upper credit.

6). NDU requires the same as Vocational and Technical Education.

7). BSU accepts NCE with at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or their equivalents which must include a credit in English Language and Mathematics OR lower credit in a relevant ND program and also provided the UTME requirements are met.
