O’Level Subjects & Admission Requirements
One of the admission requirements to study Chinese Studies is an SSCE result which must contain at least five (5) credit passes in the required O’level subjects which will be listed below. Please note that the O’Level subjects required to study this course apply to NECO, GCE, WAEC, and their equivalent.
NECO, GCE, WAEC Subjects required to Study Chinese Studies:
1). French.
2). English Language.
3). Mathematics (At least a pass).
4). And any other two (2) O’Level subjects.
WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
- UNILAG requires 5 ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, and any 3 Sciences, Arts, or Social Sciences. Civics Education and Social Studies are also accepted.
JAMB Subject Combination for Chinese Studies
Another admission requirement for UTME candidates is their JAMB score. As a UTME candidate, you are required to score at least 180 (180 is JAMB’s cut-off mark for Universities for this course) in your UTME examination which comprises three (3) compulsory subjects listed below.
JAMB UTME Subjects for Chinese Studies:
1). French.
2). And any two (2) subjects.
WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
- UNILAG requires any three (3) subjects from Arts, Social Sciences, or Sciences.
Direct Entry Admission Requirements for Chinese Studies
Direct Entry (DE) candidates are required to possess the Direct Entry Admission Requirements for Chinese Studies listed below if they don’t intend to apply through UTME.
A). Two (2) ‘A’ level passes or NCE French if you want to study a French program.
B). Two (2) ‘A’ level passes or NCE in any subjects
WAIVER/SPECIAL CONSIDERATION
- UNILAG – They don’t offer Direct Entry.
