JAMB & WAEC Subject Combination for Classical Studies is listed below alongside the admission requirements. JAMB Subject Combination for Classical Studies

Note that in UTME English Language is compulsory for the course. So you select any other three (3) JAMB UTME subjects required to study Classical Studies which is under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in any of the  universities included above;


Literature in English or History and any other two (2) subjects of your choice.

WAEC Subject Combination for Classical Studies

There are five (5) SSCE credit passes which must be at one (1) sitting or six (6) credit passes which must be at two (2) sittings required to study classical studies, which include;

English Language, Literature in English or History, one Arts or Social, Science subjects and any other subject of your choice.

NOTE: You must note that the O’Level subject combinations for Classical Studies is not limited to only WAEC. It includes NECO, GCE, and their equivalents.


Direct Entry Admission Requirements

For Direct Entry Admission you are required to satisfy the following Direct Entry Admission requirements below;

  • Two (2) ‘A’ level passes which must include History or Literature in English.
  • NCE in relevant subjects.
