Admission Requirements and Subjects for Physiology

First of all, we are going to list the O’Level subjects and requirements, then, the JAMB subjects will follow. Furthermore, we will also list the Admission requirements and the Universities in Nigeria offering the course. Above all, you will also find the special considerations (Waivers) for each of the Universities listed below. Below are all the required subjects and the UTME and Direct Entry admission requirements for Physiology.

O’Level Subjects and Requirements

Most noteworthy, as a UTME candidate, your O’Level result is an essential element in applying for admission to study Physiology. Please also note that you are required to have at least five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following O’Level subjects:
1). English Language.
2). Chemistry.
3). Biology.
4). Maths.
5). Physics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND REMARKS

1). UI requires the five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at one (1) sitting.

2). RSUST requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language, and Physics in not more than two (2) sittings.

3). DELSU requires SSC ‘O’ Level credit passes or its equivalent with at least five (5) credit passes in subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology and Chemistry at not more than two (2) sittings.

4). EDSU requires five (5) Credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry at not more than two sittings.

5). ABU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.

6). UNIBEN requires nothing less than five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes or equivalents at not more than two (2) sittings. The O’Level subjects must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.

7). FED-DUTSE requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.

8). FUTA requires five (5) SSC credit passes or its equivalent in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry at most two (2) sittings.

9). UNIPORT requires five (5) SSC credit passes in Physics, English Language, Biology, Maths, and Chemistry.

10). UNILAG requires five (5) O/Level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

11). UNILORIN accepts ‘O’ level pass in English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Biology.

JAMB Subject Combination For Physiology

Another important factor that determines if you will be qualified to study Physiology is your JAMB UTME score. You are expected to score above 200 to be qualified to study the course. Below are the four (4) accurate JAMB subject Combinations you will meet in your JAMB UTME examination:

1). Physics.
2). Biology.
3). Chemistry.
4). English Language (Compulsory for all Courses).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND REMARKS

1). ABU requires Biology, Use of English, Chemistry, and Physics.
2). BABCOCK accepts any three (3) of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
3). EDSU requires Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
4). OOU accepts any three (3) of Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
5). UNILORIN requires Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
6). UNIPORT requires Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
7). UNILAG requires Biology, English Language, Physics, and Chemistry.

Direct Entry Admission Requirements

All candidates who don’t intend to apply for admission to study Physiology through UTME should ensure they satisfy the Direct Entry admission for Physiology below:

Two (2) ‘A’ level passes chosen from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Zoology.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND REMARKS

1). ABUAD requires three (3) ‘A’ level passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Zoology.

2). ABU accepts ‘A’ Level/IJMB Passes in three subjects in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Zoology.

3). AAU requires the Same as in Medical Laboratory Science.

4). DELSU requires the following:
i). GCE or HSC ‘A’ Level or its equivalent passes in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Zoology (Botany may be accepted in place of Zoology or Biology.
ii). First degree in relevant Biological Sciences which shouldn’t be below Second Class Lower Division.

5). EDSU accepts Two (2) ‘A’ level passes which should be taken from Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Zoology plus UTME requirements. It also accepts BSc. etc in a relevant field. HND/OND in related courses with Credit pass in addition to the O’ level entry requirement. JUPEB/IJMB.

6). FUTA requires the following:
i). A minimum of ND (Upper Credit) from any recognized Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in relevant disciplines. OR
ii). ‘A’ Level passes or its equivalent (such as JUPEB, GCE Cambridge, etc.) at one sitting in at least two (2) Science subjects which must include Biology.

7). LAUTECH accepts ‘A’ level passes in Biology and Physics or Chemistry or ND/HND upper credit in relevant programs.

8). UNIBEN accepts the following:
i). Three (3) ‘A’ level passes or equivalents got at not more than two (2) sittings. The subjects are Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Zoology plus ‘O’ level requirements.
ii). At least a second class lower division in Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Zoology.

9). UI requires two (2) A’ level passes from Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology or Botany in addition to the UTME requirements.

10). UNILAG accepts passes in three (3) ‘A’ level/JUPEB subjects: Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

11). UNIPORT and UNICAL – No direct entry.

12). UNILORIN requires ‘A’ level passes from Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Physics.

13). UNIPORT accepts Three (3) A/Level passes in HSC or GCE or IJMB or JUPEB Passes in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology plus UTME entry requirements.
